Consumer appliances are fragmented at present. The phone line, cable TV, wireless cells/dishes, radios (FM/AM/XM) aand nodes such as furnace, clock, water heater, ice box, VCR, DVD, TV, remotes, answering machine, PC, thermostat, security system, lighting, micro wave, coffee maker, etc are not connected to each other. In the future all of them will be integrated for a programable system, customized for each user.
